Mpanzu is hoping to add to his tally as the season goes on

Town midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu made it a century of appearances in a Hatters shirt last night as he helped his side to a 3-0 win over Hartlepool United.

After initially signing on loan from West Ham in November 2013 before penning a permanent deal in the following January transfer window, the now 23-year-old was a part of the Conference winning side of 2013-14 and has gone onto score five goals in his time at Kenilworth Road.

He hopes to add to those appearances, with his recent form seeing him named in the starting XI for the ninth consecutive match yesterday.

He said: “Yes it is [a landmark]. 100 appearances, it’s always good to get at a club.

“I could have got a bit more, but last season I was injured so it was good to get to 100 appearances and hopefully I can get more this season.

“I have played a lot of minutes recently, so hopefully that can keep going. It’s been a good run for us, we lost one against Cheltenham. Apart from that it’s been a good run and hopefully we can continue that against Doncaster on Saturday and then the week after against Plymouth and then we have got a cup game.

“So it’s a good few weeks for us, hopefully we can push on from today’s victory.”
