Ed Asafu-Adjaye

Nationality : English
D.O.B : 22/12/1988
Position : Defender
Height: 180 cms
Weight: 78.09 kgs
Previous Clubs: Salisbury City (loan), Walton & Hersh (loan)

Capable of playing in any position across defence, Asafu-Adjaye has made significant progress through the Club's youth set-up.

Sent on on-loan to non-league side Walton & Hersham, he made the breakthrough into the first team under former boss Mike Newell, when the Club was stretched to the limits through injury and suspension.

Although the youngster was an unused sub for three matches, Youth Coach Marvin Johnson gave Ed a glowing reference to incoming boss Kevin Blackwell, who gave him a one-year contract.

However with first team opportunities still blocked, Ed went on-loan to Salisbury City where he earned rave reviews and when Mick Harford arrived as manager at Kenilworth Road one of the first things he did when he was in charge was to recall the young defender.

Making his full debut in March 2008 at Kenilworth Road against Crewe Alexandra he has gone from strength to strength and was part of the Town team that won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley in 2009.
