ED TO PEN CONTRACT EXTENSION
The Hatters are delighted to reveal that defender Ed Asafu-Adjaye has agreed a one-year contract extension to keep him at Kenilworth Road until 2011.
Hammersmith-born Ed has made 31 appearances in Town colours since making his debut against Crewe Alexandra in March 2008.
Last season the 20-year-old featured 24 times across the Hatters backline and picked up a Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners' medal.
His original contract was due to expire in the summer of 2010 and Town boss Mick Harford was keen to extend the defender's deal.
And Harford paid tribute to Ed after he committed his future to the long-term ambitions of the football club.
He told lutontown.co.uk: "I'm happy for Ed and I'm delighted that he wants to remain here for two years.
"He's a prime example of any young footballer. When I came to the club he was banished to Salisbury with seemingly no future at Luton Town.
"He came back, worked hard and has been rewarded with the extension for both his professional attitude and performances because of his ability and willingness to learn."
Ed will wear squad number 2 in the forthcoming season.
