The Hatters can confirm the loan signing of central midfielder Simon Heslop from Championship side Barnsley.

The 22-year-old has come through the ranks at Oakwell and has spent time on work experience and out on-loan at a number of clubs over the past four years.

After a successful work experience spell at Kidderminster Harriers, Heslop returned to Yorkshire and eye-catching performances in the Tykes' academy and reserves sides led to him sealing a two-year contract.

Despite his age, Simon has considerable experience of non-league football and impressed on his last visit to Kenilworth Road when he was part of the Kettering Town side that won 1-0 on 2nd December.

He goes straight into the Town side to face Wrexham tomorrow and will wear squad number 35.
